I have quite a flexible voice ranging from laid back and friendly to authoritative and corporate. My natural accent is standard English but, I can easily adjust that up, or down market according to what's needed. My voice has been described as warm and deep and my strengths are in recording to time (when needed) and delivering sincerity.
Hi, I'm David, and I look forward to working with you.
Every job is different so, but generally, these are the sorts of questions I usually ask.
1 - Usage, where will the recording be used? Eg; online, conferences or exhibitions, radio, television etc.
2 - Rights - Will the recording be used indefinitely or for a time-limited campaign?
3 - Target audience? Who are we talking to?
4 - Pace, how fast or slow do you want it?
5 - How do you imagine the script sounding?
This can be variable. Obviously, if I've made a mistake, I'll correct it without extra charge until it's right. Script changes after the recording will incur another recording session charge. I'll generally offer one re-record if you find that some sections need to be slightly different, but I need detailed instructions on how to do it differently, and of course, the more information and guidance you provide at the start, the less likely we are to need a second session.
Generally speaking, and particularly if the session is booked in advance, I can often turn jobs around within a day or at least on the next day. However, depending on work schedules, it can take up to 3 or 4 days, but that's very rare, and I'll always let a client know before a job is confirmed if it's likely to be the case. I won't take on a job unless I know I can meet the client's specified deadline.
I have a great little booth which is acoustically neutral. I use a Neumann TLM103 microphone which has a wonderfully rich sound to it and I record on Adobe Audition. I usually deliver a .wav file as standard but can offer almost any format like .aiff or .mp3 if required.
